Viraha The Symphony of Separation
Viraha (The Symphony of Separation) is a musical rendering on the pangs of separation. Even as inseparable minds separate, the ensuing agony is shared through Swaras and Ragas. Raga itself means love. Hearts that pine for reunion with the beloved, overflow with song, expressing the eternal bond of love. Three ragas namely Pushapalathika, Sarasang and Hemavathi have been used in the composition of Viraha.
Odakkuzhal the Malayalam equivalent of flute in English is a classical musical instrument of India. The Audio CD titled Viraha has flute rendition by Kudamaloor Janardanan, conveying the pangs of separation.
Kudamaloor Janardanan
Kudamaloor Janardanan is a self-taught flautist, who has a unique style of playing. He has given many concerts and participated in many musical festivals. He is also an expert in Violin and in vocal music. Though a graduate in Violin from Madras University, Flute is his utmost passion.
